Thom, the owner of Lake Erie Automotive Service, has been captivated by mechanics since childhood. His curiosity and desire to understand how things worked led him to repair small household items before eventually moving on to vehicles. His parents’ garage became his first workshop—a place where his interest in automotive repair truly began to take shape.
His commitment to learning continued throughout high school, where he enrolled in the Ag-industrial program at Ashtabula County Technical & Career Campus. There, he refined his mechanical abilities and excelled in multiple competitions, demonstrating both skill and drive.
After graduating in 1994, Thom began his career at a local new car dealership. Determined to grow, he advanced quickly through training, earning top-level certifications. His pursuit of knowledge even led him to attend specialized programs across Detroit and New York City to deepen his expertise.
In 2006, Thom founded Lake Erie Automotive Service with a mission to bring high-quality, fairly priced automotive care to the Conneaut community. Today, the business has expanded into a respected, customer-focused repair center known for excellent service and a supportive, family-oriented workplace that encourages ongoing learning and professional development for every team member.
